Physiotherapy is Movement Habilitation

Movement habilitation is the achievement of ability in the context of movement. This is always the goal of physiotherapy, whether gaining new abilities, or regaining lost ones.

The goal of gaining ability with movement remains the same regardless of the presence of pain or injury at the parts in the movement system, or the current level of athletic ability.

This helps to bridge the gap between the realms of ‘rehabilitation’/’treatment’ and ‘strength and conditioning’/’performance’. Just when exactly does someone move from treatment to training? There is no distinct point of separation.

There is a continuous line between a very limited and suffering movement system to an uninhibited and healthy one and the way to move forward along that line is to improve ability, one step at a time. This is what Moveable Physiotherapy can help with.
